Nothing about girls without girls. Our Advisory Council brings alumni and current participants directly into the room when strategic decisions are made.
Why a Girls Advisory Council?
Programs designed for girls without hearing from girls miss the mark. Our Council of 10–12 adolescent girls and young women meets quarterly to review our programs, suggest improvements, and set priorities for the year ahead.
What Council members do
- Review new curricula before they roll out to schools
- Represent GUIU at conferences, panels, and community events
- Recommend priorities to the Executive Director and Board
- Mentor peers stepping into program leadership roles
